Where Is the Sugar Bowl?
Short answer: the Sugar Bowl location is the same every year: the Caesars Superdome, 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive, New Orleans, Louisiana, in the Central Business District a few blocks from the French Quarter. The next one is a College Football Playoff semifinal on Friday, January 15, 2027 at 6:30 PM. The game has been a New Orleans tradition since 1935 and has been played at the Superdome since 1975. Game day brings road closures around Poydras Street, full lots and a long rideshare queue after the final whistle. A chauffeured car takes all three off your list.
When Is the Sugar Bowl?
The next game is a College Football Playoff semifinal on Friday, January 15, 2027 at 6:30 PM Central. The bowl rotates through the playoff with the other New Year’s Six bowls, so its date moves between late December and mid-January. Upcoming games at the Superdome:

About the Game and the Superdome
The College Football Playoff rotates its quarterfinals and semifinals among six bowls: the Cotton, Fiesta, Orange, Peach, Rose and Sugar. In the 2026 season New Orleans hosts a semifinal, so the winner of the January 15 game goes on to the national championship on January 25, 2027 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The first game was played on January 1, 1935 at Tulane Stadium, when Tulane beat Temple, and the game moved into the dome in 1975. The only year it left the city was January 2006, when it was played in Atlanta after Hurricane Katrina.
The Caesars Superdome holds about 73,000 fans and sits on Poydras Street, a short walk from most CBD and French Quarter hotels, which is exactly why the streets around it close and fill up on game day. The dome is fully cashless, parking included, and uses a clear-bag policy at every gate. If your hotel is within a few blocks, you may walk in; everyone else is better off with a car that drops the group close to the gate and is waiting when the game ends.
Planning Your Sugar Bowl Trip
Most fans treat the game as a long weekend rather than a single night. Arrival day is usually the day before the game, with flights into Louis Armstrong New Orleans International (MSY). On game day, a six-hour booking typically starts in the afternoon with a pickup at your hotel, covers the pre-game gathering, the drop at the Superdome and the wait through the game, and ends with the ride to a late dinner or back to your hotel after the final whistle. Because the chauffeur stays with your group, nobody is stuck in a surge-priced rideshare queue on Poydras Street at midnight.

No Sugar Bowl Parking, No Rideshare Line
Superdome parking is cashless and the lots near the dome fill well before kickoff. With a chauffeured car there is nothing to park: your chauffeur drops your group as close to your gate as the day’s traffic plan allows, stages nearby during the game, and meets you at an agreed spot afterwards.
Plan to arrive well before kickoff; bag checks at a sold-out Superdome move slowly. Only clear bags up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches, a one-gallon clear bag or a small clutch are allowed, and the dome is cashless inside.
