Is a limousine better than a rideshare in New Orleans?

For a single rider going a short distance, rideshare is usually cheaper. It stops being the better option the moment the trip has stakes. How far ahead should you book a limo in New Orleans?

More than most cities, because New Orleans sells out. Ordinary weekday transfers can often be arranged same day. Weddings, proms and large group charters should be booked two to eight weeks out, since a specific vehicle is being reserved rather than a general seat.

Special events are their own category. Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, Essence Festival, the Sugar Bowl, French Quarter Fest and LSU home games routinely exhaust the city’s entire limousine inventory. For those dates, book as soon as your plans firm up. A month is not early.

What size vehicle do you need?

Count people and luggage separately. The second number is what catches groups out on airport runs. A luxury sedan suits one to three passengers travelling light. An SUV handles up to six with real luggage capacity. A Mercedes Sprinter carries executive groups in comfort, stretch limos cover weddings and nights out, party buses seat 24 and 30, and a motor coach moves up to 56. When a group falls between two sizes, take the larger one; standing room on a party bus is the point, and a cramped ride undoes the reason you booked.
