For a normal weekend, 48 hours ahead is comfortable. For Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, Essence Festival, a Sugar Bowl or a Super Bowl week, book as soon as your flights are ticketed: the fleet is finite and those dates sell out well before the date itself.
