Tailgating, Parking Rules and What to Check Before You Go

LSU game day transportation is only half the plan. The other half is knowing what the university actually allows once you arrive, because those rules change more often than people expect and they directly affect where your vehicle can stage and how long your group can tailgate.

Tailgating on campus generally opens the morning of the game and runs until kickoff, with lots clearing on a published schedule afterward. The first is the clear-bag policy: Tiger Stadium, like most SEC venues, restricts what you can carry through the gates, and coolers that are perfectly fine at the tailgate are not coming inside with you. Leaving them secured on the vehicle solves this neatly — another practical advantage of a chartered ride over a rideshare drop-off. The second is re-entry. Once you go through the gate, stepping back out to the lot is generally not permitted, so whatever your group needs for the next four hours should come in with them.

Weather is the other variable worth planning around. Finally, plan the post-game window realistically. Traffic leaving the stadium does not meaningfully move for the first forty-five minutes to an hour after the final whistle, no matter what your navigation app promises.
