Booking a Party Bus in New Orleans: What to Know
- Where a party bus can actually stop. Bourbon Street is closed to vehicles in the evenings and much of the French Quarter cannot take a 30-foot bus. We load and unload at the nearest legal point — usually Canal, Decatur or Rampart — which is a short walk from most destinations.
- Build the route before the night. Give us your stops in advance. Carnival parade routes, Superdome events and second lines close streets with little notice, and a chauffeur who knows the schedule will route around them instead of sitting in them.
- Glass and smoking. No glass on board and all vehicles are non-smoking. Cans, plastic and the on-board champagne service are all fine.
- Peak dates sell out. Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, Essence Festival, Super Bowl weekend and New Year's Eve are the dates our party buses go first. Mardi Gras also carries a parade-season surcharge on affected days — call dispatch and we will tell you before you commit.

A 24-passenger limo party bus is $275 per hour with a 4-hour minimum, which is $1,430 all in. The 30-passenger XL is $400 per hour with the same 4-hour minimum, or $2,080 all in. Both totals already include the 20 percent gratuity and 10 percent fuel surcharge, so the number you see is the number you pay. Point-to-point transfers are also available at $634 and $855 respectively.
How many people fit on a New Orleans party bus?
Our limo party bus seats 24 and the XL seats 30. Seating is wraparound, so the stated capacity is comfortable rather than a squeeze. For groups larger than 30 we run executive buses and a 56-passenger motor coach, and larger groups are often split across two vehicles travelling together.
Can we drink on a party bus in New Orleans?
Yes. Passengers of legal drinking age may drink on board, and the buses have coolers and a champagne bar. Open containers are legal for passengers in a chartered vehicle in Louisiana, and your chauffeur is of course not drinking. We ask that no glass is brought aboard and that nothing leaves the vehicle at stops.
Can a party bus drive down Bourbon Street?
No, and no operator who tells you otherwise is being straight with you. Bourbon Street is pedestrianised in the evenings and much of the French Quarter is too narrow for a 30-foot vehicle. We drop off and collect at the closest legal loading point, usually on Canal, Decatur, or Rampart, which is a short walk from wherever you are heading.
